What does MGO mean?

MGO stands for methylglyoxal and is contained exclusively in Manuka honey. This substance is produced during the ripening process of Manuka honey. The nectar of the Manuka plant contains dihydroxyacetone, which is converted to methylglyoxal (MGO) as the honey matures. It is still not known why this substance is only found in the nectar of the Manuka plant.
Each individual Manuka honey can be traced back to the beekeeper based on its MGO. Our Manuka Honey is certified and tested with an MGO of 500+ and is our premium product from New Zealand.

Manuka honey with a content of less than 400 MGO has the same effect as normal blossom honey. Our Manuka honey is meticulously analyzed (see here certificate of analysis).

A special form of Manuka honey

Exclusive Manuka quality

In the untouched landscapes of New Zealand, bees collect the nectar of the manuka plant and produce a unique honey from it. This honey impresses with its special origin, characterful taste and high MGO content.

The higher the MGO value, the rarer and more valuable the Manuka honey. With a guaranteed minimum content of 1000 mg methylglyoxal per kilogram, this limited edition is one of the rarest varieties of genuine New Zealand manuka honey.

It is ideally enjoyed pure and is suitable even in small quantities for conscious moments of pleasure of exceptional quality.

What does MGO mean?

MGO stands for methylglyoxal and is contained in particularly high concentrations in Manuka honey. This ingredient is produced during the natural ripening process, which takes around 18 months for this honey.

The nectar of the Manuka plant initially contains dihydroxyacetone, which is converted to methylglyoxal during the ripening process. Why this substance is particularly present in the nectar of the manuka plant is still not fully understood. An MGO content of over 1000 is considered exceptionally high and makes this honey a particularly rare specialty from New Zealand.

Each batch is tested in independent laboratories both in New Zealand and in Germany, guaranteeing the highest quality and traceability.

Limited Edition: Manuka Honey 1000+ MGO

The gold from New Zealand

Manuka is not just Manuka - I not only understood this, I felt it deeply. After more than 5 years of working together, I finally traveled to New Zealand: to the place where it all begins and where our Manuka honey originates. Far away from roads, high up in untouched mountain regions, I discovered it - a Manuka honey like never before. Over 1,000+ MGO, powerful, pure, rare.

At that moment I realized: this is not just honey, this is something special. This experience gave rise to the idea of not just bringing it with us, but creating something unique from it - our Limited Edition 1,000+ MGO.

Strictly limited to just 5,000 jars. Not just a product, but a reminder of the origin, the encounter and the special feeling.

What our customers say

MY STORY

Founder by conviction

Bee products have been with me since I was a child. Every morning I was allowed to take a teaspoon of pollen and propolis to boost my well-being. Years later, I used propolis for my neurodermatitis and knew that my fellow sufferers would notice. Even today, I no longer have any flare-ups and have been able to give thousands of people quality of life.

We know our bees

Our passionate beekeepers treat the bees with care. They provide the small farm animals with the necessary resources. To ensure that the beekeepers receive high-quality bee products, the bees are fed with natural products and feed solutions. Our beekeepers refrain from using pesticides & antibiotics and other veterinary drug residues.

The pure air of the idyllic rural regions is reflected in the bees' products. We have packed this purity into our products, pure propolis tinctures whose quality you can literally taste.

FOR THE SAKE OF THE ENVIRONMENT
