WHAT ARE CIRCULAR REDDENED AREAS OF SKIN?
Circular reddened skin can appear as a visible change in the skin’s appearance, influenced by various external factors. Beyond the visual aspect, many people find this skin condition emotionally challenging, as visible skin changes can affect personal well‑being.
Typically, individual reddish patches with scaly edges appear, which can then spread as smaller, scaly areas. The skin often looks unsettled or uneven in texture.
Such skin changes commonly occur on the upper arms, thighs or trunk. Depending on severity, the skin may be perceived as dry, sensitive or stressed.
A gentle, skin‑type‑appropriate care routine can help improve the skin’s feel and keep it supple.
Certain skin conditions can change in phases and become more noticeable under external or internal influences. This can lead to circularly reddened or scaly areas that make the complexion appear unsettled.

PROPOLIS
Propolis Tincture 10%
The Propolis Tincture 10% is ideal for mixing into a natural skin cream. This lets you easily make your own propolis cream at home (find the recipe for your DIY propolis cream here). You can apply this cream to the affected area several times a day and allow it to absorb. The valuable ingredients of the natural cosmetic cream and the propolis reach the affected area and intensely moisturise the skin, helping to soften dry, cracked spots and promote comfort for itchy skin.
Propolis (Mouth) Spray
Our alcohol-free Propolis (Mouth) Spray is suitable for direct application to affected skin areas. The propolis spray forms a light, slightly sticky protective layer on the skin that acts like a natural plaster. It is quickly absorbed and leaves a pleasant skin feel. This treatment with the alcohol-free propolis spray can be repeated several times daily if desired. For circularly reddened skin we recommend using the alcohol-free propolis for direct care, since alcohol-containing propolis would be counterproductive and could further dry out the affected areas!

What kind of skincare is best for your skin right now?

Cool and soothe the feeling of tightness.

Tip: Test every skincare product first on a small, inconspicuous area of skin. Every skin type reacts differently!

Natural bee products—how propolis can help
Products containing propolis —such as tinctures, sprays, or creams —are used as part of a complementary skincare routine. Propolis is valued for its skin-soothing properties; as part of a general skincare routine, it can help improve the skin’s feel and support its natural moisture balance. Note: Alcohol-free formulations are particularly well-suited for sensitive skin .
Our 10% Propolis Tincture and 20% Propolis Tincture, for example, are excellent for mixing with a purely natural skin cream. Propolis moisturizes the skin, restores suppleness to cracked and dry areas, and can help relieve itchy skin, leaving it feeling comfortable.
Our Propolis Spray is alcohol-free and isn’t just for oral care. The Propolis Spray forms a natural protective film on the skin that acts like a completely natural bandage. First aid from the beehive, so to speak! It’s important to note that it contains no alcohol , as alcohol can further dry out the skin.
What should you avoid if your skin is red?
- Hot or long baths, as well as sauna sessions
- Intense exercise or anything that causes heavy sweating
- Scratching or vigorous rubbing—this worsens the symptoms
- Using heavily perfumed or alcohol-based cosmetics
These measures are gentle on your skin and can support its healing process.
