For the HIVE PROTECT facial cream, we deliberately chose zinc oxide as the sole UV filter – a purely mineral filter that does not absorb UV radiation but reflects it at the skin’s surface. It does not penetrate the skin, works immediately after application and is regarded as one of the most skin-friendly UV filters available.

Bees produce some of nature’s most valuable substances. In the HIVE PROTECT face cream three of them come together: royal jelly, Manuka honey and propolis.
Manuka honey MGO 500+ is renowned for its exceptional properties. It moisturises, supports regeneration and leaves the skin feeling well cared for — especially welcome after a long summer’s day.
Royal jelly, the nutrient-rich “superfood” of the queen bee, contains amino acids and natural lipids such as 10‑HDA. It helps support a balanced, well-cared-for complexion. It hydrates the skin, strengthens it from within and gives a smooth, supple feel. Perfect after a day in the sun to replenish moisture.
Propolis serves in the hive as a natural protective substance. In skincare it is known for its regenerating and caring properties. Skin regeneration is essential because the skin is exposed to environmental influences and oxidative stress throughout the day.
The combination of these three bee-derived actives is paired with mineral UV protection – creating a formulation that delivers protection and care in one step.
Carnosine
The anti‑ageing molecule your skin already knows
Carnosine is an endogenous dipeptide naturally found in the skin that plays an important role in protecting cellular structures. In the HIVE PROTECT face cream it is used specifically to help protect the skin from oxidative stress.
UV radiation can create free radicals that burden skin cells and affect the skin over time. Carnosine acts as an antioxidant and helps to offset this process. In addition, carnosine is linked with supporting the defence against glycation — a natural process in which sugars can alter the structure of skin proteins such as collagen.
UV exposure is considered one of the main causes of premature skin ageing — which makes it all the more important not to skip the most important anti‑ageing step in the morning: applying sun protection to the skin.
