World Bee Day 2025

''Once the bee disappears from the earth, man has only four years to live''

We celebrate the wonderful & industrious bees with a new bee protection project

Did you know how important bees are for our ecosystem?
They are responsible for more than 80% of the pollination of our plants & nature!
Probably the most industrious beneficial animal in our ecosystem is responsible for all the wonderful splendor in our ecosystem.

Our new bee protection project

Today, on World Bee Day , we not only want to appreciate our busy friends, but also actively support them.

Last year, we launched our regional nature conservation project in the form of a 5000m² flowering meadow.

Because that's not enough for us, we're going one better this year:
we're already working on a new project that will take our commitment to biodiversity and sustainability to the next level. We'll reveal more about this in the coming weeks! 🐝🌱But what you can already know now: A portion of every purchase you make at bedrop goes directly to bee conservation. So you can actively contribute to the preservation of our buzzing helpers with every order and help to protect and preserve their habitats.
Thank you for making a difference together with us.

Our flowering meadow is a complete success for nature conservation & biodiversity

Together with you, we have transformed a 5000m² paradise for bees, butterflies and many other species. Our goal remains: more habitat for bees, more biodiversity and an active contribution to nature conservation. 💛

Beekeepers for the well-being of bees

World Bee Day was introduced by the United Nations in 2017. May 20th of each year was declared World Bee Day to raise awareness of the importance of bees to our environment and food production. The introduction of World Bee Day followed a long campaign by beekeepers, environmentalists and other advocacy groups working to protect bees and other pollinators.

What else can we do?

World Bee Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of the threats bees face and to take action to protect their habitats and food sources. Everyone can help with a few simple points:

🐝 Bee-friendly plants - Plant flowering plants in your garden or on your balcony that are rich in nectar and pollen. Examples include lavender, sunflowers and wildflowers
🐝 Nesting sites - bees also need nesting sites in the form of bee hotels in your garden or on your balcony
🐝 Avoid pesticides - these can harm bees. Instead, use natural methods to control pests or choose pesticides that are safe for bees
🐝 Water trough - bees also get thirsty on warm days due to the long distances, provide a shallow water trough
