Honey bees produce royal jelly exclusively for the rearing and feeding of the queen bee. This viscous substance is crucial for the development of the queen, whose lifespan is up to four years - significantly longer than that of the worker bees. This can also be explained by the special composition of royal jelly, which is particularly rich in nutrients such as proteins, vitamins, minerals and enzymes.

Royal jelly contains specific amino acids and peptides that have been shown to promote the synthesis of collagen and elastin.
