Gelée Royale, also called royal jelly, is the most precious product from the beehive. Worker bees make it from flower pollen, honey and an enzyme‑rich secretion of their salivary glands. In the hive it is stored exclusively in the brood cells and serves as the exclusive food of the queen bee. This special diet likely contributes to the queen’s lifespan of up to four years, while worker bees live only a few weeks.
Unlike the freeze‑dried capsule form, fresh Gelée Royale offers the full, natural flavour and can be used in many ways: enjoyed on its own on an empty stomach, stirred into your breakfast bowl or as a valuable addition to skincare.

What exactly is Gelée Royale?
Gelée Royale is, alongside honey, flower pollen and propolis, one of the most important bee products in the hive and is often referred to as a “bee superfood” because of its valuable constituents.
Worker bees collect flower pollen, mix it with honey in their mouths and add a nutrient-rich secretion from their fat and salivary glands. This mixture develops into the special Gelée Royale. Fresh Gelée Royale serves as food for the queen bee and for larvae destined to become queens. It is believed that the unique composition of this “royal feed” is largely responsible for the queen bee’s extraordinary lifespan of up to four years.
Gelée Royale is also called royal jelly, royal feed or queen bee juice.
