What is propolis?
Alongside honey, pollen and royal jelly,propolis is one of the most important substances in the beehive. The substance, which consists mainly of resin and wax, is collected by the worker bees and brought into the hive. There, the hive bees take over the propolis and use it to insulate the hive, seal cracks and create a kind of doormat at the entrance to the hive. This doormat serves to disinfect returning worker bees and protect them from pests. In this way, the bees use propolis not only to ward off foreign invaders, but also to maintain hygiene and stability in the hive.
Founder by conviction
Bee products have been with me since I was a child. Every morning I was allowed to take a teaspoon of bee pollen and propolis to strengthen my well-being. Years later, I used propolis to supplement my skin care for neurodermatitis and knew that my fellow sufferers needed to experience this too.
