Heuschnupfen-propolis

A pollen allergy (also known as hay fever or allergic rhinitis)is an allergic reaction to pollen from plants that are released during the pollen season. In Germany, every 5th adult and 20% of all children suffer from a pollen allergy. Due to environmental pollution, the number of people affected increases every year, both in childhood and adulthood.

Pollen allergy in medicine

Symptoms can include itching, runny nose, sneezing, eye irritation, headaches and skin rashes. Frequent blowing of the nose leads to dry and sensitive nostrils. For those affected, this is a very stressful and annoying allergy, as the symptoms persist for a long time. If the symptoms are very severe, it is not possible to socialize. This seasonal allergy not only affects adults, but also children. In medicine, medications such as antihistamines, nasal sprays and eye drops are used.

Protecting and caring for the skin with propolis

Propolis products can be used in many different ways. We recommend our propolis starter set, which is perfect for a wide range of skin care products for pollen allergies. You can spray the bedrop Propolis Mouth Spray alcohol-free directly into your mouth as needed and as a natural support. If frequent blowing of the nose causes brittle and dry nostrils, you can support them with propolis tincture 20%. You can use this as a propolis cream. Propolis cream is super easy to make and can be applied to dry nostrils or allergy rashes. You can find out how to make your propolis cream in this blog article.

You can spray the alcohol-free propolis mouth spray into your mouth several times a day, especially when you are out and about. The propolis acts as a kind of protective plaster and can provide support throughout the day.

You can also use propolis to make a super simple, homemade, natural nasal spray as a daily companion. I have put together detailed step-by-step instructions for you in the blog article"DIY: Propolis nasal spray with sea salt".

We also recommend strengthening your well-being from the inside. Studies have shown that propolis can improve well-being due to its high flavonoid content(click here for the study). We therefore recommend taking bedrop propolis capsules (2 capsules ) daily in the morning with or after a meal.

It is important to carry out a small allergy test on the palm of your hand before using propolis for the very first time. To do this, apply 1-2 drops to the palm of your hand and leave to soak in for approx. 30 minutes. If no allergic reaction occurs, propolis can be used to support and care for the skin in the event of a pollen allergy.
