Apis Mellifera

Apis mellifera is the scientific name of the western honey bee, which is widespread in many parts of the world and plays a central role in beekeeping. It lives in highly organized colonies in which each animal has a fixed role, for example as worker, drone or queen. It is particularly well known for its pollination service, which is of great importance for many wild and cultivated plants. They also produce honey, wax and other valuable bee products.
