Caring for and Protecting Babies' Skin

Babies’ skin is very sensitive, especially during the first few months of life. Some babies are affected by what is known as newborn acne. This causes red spots and patches to form, particularly on the cheeks, forehead, or stomach.

Starting in the third week of life, babies undergo hormonal changes that affect their behavior, growth, and skin. Baby acne can also be caused by food intolerances, often related to cow’s milk.

Propolis can help care for babies' sensitive skin.

TREATMENT OPTIONS

How is baby acne treated?

Conventional medicine typically recommends high‑strength corticosteroid creams and sometimes antibiotics for treating baby acne. Unfortunately, prolonged use of these therapies in infancy can lead to unwanted side effects and impaired development. Such side effects can include skin thinning or the development of antibiotic resistance.

A natural treatment option is Propolis. Propolis can help relieve the discomfort and symptoms of baby acne.

PROPOLIS TINCTURE FOR BABY ACNE

We recommend using our 10% propolis tincture for skin care .

Alcohol-Free Propolis Tincture 10%: Our alcohol-free propolis tincture is suitable both for direct application to affected areas of the skin and for making propolis cream. The alcohol-free propolis tincture can be applied directly to the affected areas with a finger. Propolis is slightly sticky and acts as a natural adhesive. The propolis cream can also be dabbed onto the skin and gently massaged into the baby’s skin. It can be applied several times a day.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

Because I suffer from acne and atopic dermatitis, I was looking for a strong propolis tincture. This one helped me a lot and I’ve already ordered it for the third time. Really great.

I’ve tried many propolis tinctures and use propolis every morning. This one is my new favourite — thank you!

I use bedrop’s propolis for my skin complaints and my immune system. I suffer from eczema and was finally able to stop using corticosteroid creams — I’m happy.

Is there anything I should keep in mind when using this product?

Babies’ skin is particularly sensitive. Therefore, we recommend testing new skincare products on a small area of skin before using them for the first time. This allows you to check whether the skin tolerates the product well.

If any unusual skin reactions occur, such as severe redness, irritation, or other abnormalities, discontinue use.

If your child exhibits unusual behavior or shows symptoms such as persistent skin changes, fever, or discomfort, we recommend seeking medical advice as a precaution.
