ABOUT PROPOLIS CAPSULES
What are capsules?
Capsules are a solid dosage form containing a specific dose for administration. The shape, size and consistency of the capsules can differ depending on the type. The shell is the capsule in which the various substances are filled and sealed. Propolis capsules are easy to swallow and in most forms are taken orally with liquid, depending on the recommended daily intake. The contents of the capsules can be liquid, pasty, solid or in powder form. It is important that the active ingredients do not attack the capsule wall and leave it solid. The capsules are divided into the following capsule types:
-
Soft capsules:
Soft capsules are also known as soft gel capsules and have a light, gel-like consistency. The contents of these capsules can vary from semi-solid, liquid, pasty and powdery substances. The outer shell is made from water and gelatine (animal or vegetable). The elasticity of the shell is made possible by the addition of 25% gylcerol, propylene glycol or sorbitol. Soft capsules are formed, filled and then sealed in a single step during production. The capsule shell is slightly thicker than that of the hard capsules and cannot be opened. -
Hard capsules:
In contrast to soft capsules, hard capsules are hard and not elastic. They are individually dosed in the capsule. The shell is made from gelatine (animal or vegetable) and does not contain any plasticizers. The hard capsules cannot be split due to their consistency. Dyes can be used to color the capsules to protect the contents from light and UV rays. They consist of two prefabricated parts (cap & body) and are sealed together. The contents can consist of solid substances.
Propolis capsules
Propolis is also known as bee resin, which the bees collect from the resins of the trees and chew in their mouths, adding various enzymes in the process. Each propolis is different, as the resin is collected from different trees and therefore varies in taste, color and, in rare cases, smell. The consistency of the propolis is sticky and soft when collected, then changes to a porous, brittle and firm consistency. The bees use the propolis for their hive, as protection, hygiene and insulation. When bees fly into the hive, they graze on the propolis, which disinfects the returning worker and honey bees and thus keeps bacteria and microbes away from the inside of the hive. Possible effects can be achieved by taking propolis capsules not only more easily, but also as a supplement to the diet (no vitamin replacement, etc.). The capsule has a recommended dosage that can be taken with liquid. In contrast to a propolis tincture, propolis capsules have the advantage of not tasting the intense flavor of propolis. Due to the specified dosage, the propolis capsules can also be easily taken on the go and divided throughout the day.
The composition of the propolis capsules
The propolis capsules contain propolis from propolis extract (approx. 70%), carob powder (approx. 27%) and silicon dioxide (approx. 3%). The capsule shell is vegetarian and of vegetable origin(hydroxypropyl methylcellulose).

IMPORTANT:
The consumption of capsules is not a substitute for a normal and healthy diet! A balanced and varied diet is still of great importance!
