Use of propolis for nail fungus
Nail fungus is an infection caused by fungi that colonize under or around the nail. The pathogens, mostly dermatophytes, but also yeasts or molds, thrive in warm, moist environments such as those found in shoes. Common causes of nail fungus are therefore prolonged dampness, poor ventilation of the feet and walking barefoot in public bathrooms or changing rooms. Depending on the fungus, nail fungus differs in terms of symptoms and the course of the disease. As with many other diseases, the immune system plays a major role in nail fungus in addition to hygiene.
NAIL FUNGUS IN MEDICINE
Nail fungus, medically known as onychomycosis, can affect both fingernails and toenails. Various approaches are available in medicine to treat nail fungus. These include topical antifungals in the form of creams or varnishes that are applied directly to the affected nails, as well as oral antifungals that act internally. For severe infections, physical methods such as laser therapy or surgical removal of the affected part of the nail may also be considered. These products and medications often have harmful side effects for affected individuals. Nail fungus is also divided into three different stages in medicine.

Study propolis and nail fungus
In addition to the infections and symptoms of nail fungus, the right treatment is very important. The fungi can spread extremely quickly, but are also highly contagious for others. It is important to act correctly and treat the nail fungus properly and to use chemical-free products without side effects. Antifungals are of great importance and should always be to hand for those affected. Natural antifungals offer great added value without the risk of other side effects: Propolis is considered a natural antifungal in naturopathy.
Various studies have looked at the effect of propolis on nail fungus. One study, published in the "Journal of Medicinal Food", investigated the antifungal properties of propolis extract and concluded that propolis could be a promising option for combating nail fungal infections.
Another study in the "International Journal of Cosmetic Science" found that propolis extract has a strong antifungal effect against various types of fungi, including those that cause nail fungus.
Treating nail fungus can also be done with the power of bee products. Propolis and honey are important products from the beehive, they are known in alternative medicine to support various needs and are also popular in natural care and complementary treatment for nail fungus. Thanks to the brush applicator, the propolis nail serum can be easily applied to the nail fungus as cosmetic care so that it can be absorbed well. It is important to strengthen the body and well-being from the inside out; in addition to a healthy diet, propolis capsules can provide natural support.
Use of propolis for nail fungus
Treatment with propolis is very diverse. We have put together a "Nail Care Set" for nail fungus sufferers so that the most important products for a step-by-step application are to hand. Before starting the treatment, the affected areas should be cleaned well, preferably with a natural soap, our Propolis Honey Soap, which not only cleanses but also provides antifungal care to the affected areas. Shea butter and coconut oil provide the soap with nourishing and hydrating properties, while propolis and honey tackle the nail fungus more deeply.
After cleansing, the intensive part of the application follows with the propolis nail serum, based on high-quality herbal extracts and high-dose propolis. The affected nails are now coated with the brush so that the serum can be absorbed well. The serum can be applied several times a day.
If you wish, you can take a foot bath once a week using alcohol-free propolis tincture and water. This foot bath is not only relaxing after a long day, but also perfect for nail fungus sufferers. The only important thing is: after getting your feet or hands wet, the area should be dried well, as fungi like to live and spread in damp places.
