Use of propolis for abscesses

Abscesses are an accumulation of pus encapsulated in the tissue. Abscesses are promoted by bacteria that enter the body via wounds or injections. Abscesses differ in their symptoms but also in the course of the disease; if action is taken quickly, they can spread rapidly and surgery can be prevented. The immune system plays a major role in abscesses. If the immune system is weak, bacteria and viruses are more likely to survive and trigger reactions in the body
ABSCESSES IN MEDICINE
In medicine, there is no "one" abscess; they can occur in different areas such as the liver, brain, intestines or skin. The latter is the most common type of abscess, as the skin reacts to direct contact with it. If only one abscess is affected, it is called a "boil", if several abscesses accumulate, it is called a "carbuncle". The diameter of the pus formation varies, but a visit to the doctor or treatment of these abscesses should not be ignored or neglected. Abscesses on the face in particular are considered very dangerous, as the face and location can lead to a brain abscess over time, which is considered life-threatening.

Study propolis and abscesses
In addition to the infections and symptoms of abscesses, the correct treatment is particularly important. The bacteria can spread extremely quickly and can even have life-threatening effects, such as blood poisoning. The well-known visit to the dermatologist is important here, but this is often followed by an operation. The abscess is cut open so that the pus it contains can be removed. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia.
Abscesses can also be treated with the power of bee products. Propolis and honey are important products from the beehive. Propolis and honey are known in alternative medicine to support various needs and are also often used for abscesses. The propolis tincture can simply be dripped onto the abscesses as a treatment so that it can be absorbed well. As at the beginning of the blog article, it is important to strengthen well-being, which is where Manuka honey comes into play. With a combination of Manuka honey and propolis, well-being can be strengthened in the long term.
The study by Hepson et al. 1999; Ozturk et al. 1999 shows that aqueous propolis solutions are the most effective for the treatment of abscesses. According to other studies, propolis has antimicrobial and antiviral properties that promote the production of human skin cells and thus skin regeneration in abscesses.
Use of propolis for abscesses
Treatment with propolis tinctures is very diverse. We distinguish between diluted and pure tinctures in the application. You can apply the bedrop 20% propolis tincture pure or in combination with manuka honey to the abscess. The 20% propolis tincture is also suitable for daily use with a cream; you can find out how to make your own propolis cream in this blog article. You can apply the cream several times a day without any problems.
You can mix the propolis tincture 5% well with water and apply it diluted. We recommend making a daily propolis facial toner, especially for abscesses on the face, to prevent such complaints. You can find the instructions for propolis facial toner here.
To strengthen your well-being, we recommend fighting the bacteria from the inside. Studies have shown that propolis has a high flavonoid content and can improve well-being(click here for the study). We recommend taking bedrop propolis capsules (2 capsules ) daily in the morning with or after a meal.
Bear in mind that propolis can leave stains, so you can cover the affected areas with a plaster when using it on its own.
