The story behind our vision
Hey, I’m Betül — founder and the “Bee” of bedrop.
I’ve suffered from dry, itchy skin and eczema since childhood. It got especially bad during stressful periods or in winter — and for a long time I searched for something that truly helped.
The answer was actually something I’d encountered much earlier: bee products. As a child, bee pollen and propolis were a natural part of my life, until that knowledge slipped away.
Years later I remembered and began using propolis deliberately again for my skin and wellbeing. Then things changed: my skin became noticeably calmer, more resilient and less irritated. I simply felt better and more vital in everyday life.
My husband Florian joined me on this journey and quickly realised that this knowledge should reach many more people.
More and more people are seeking natural alternatives and are purposely choosing products that are in harmony with nature.
This is exactly where we step in: we combine time‑honoured knowledge with modern standards. Whether for your wellbeing or your skincare – bee products can support you in many ways. Sustainability is not an add‑on for us, but the foundation. We use eco‑friendly packaging, sustainable jars and recyclable shipping materials. Because we believe: a natural product should never harm nature.
This is how bedrop was born. In 2020 we founded our startup – with the wish to support people in their skincare and overall wellbeing using the power of the bee. Our skin is our largest organ, and protecting it is especially close to our hearts 💛

Securing Judith Williams as an investor was a very special moment for bedrop.

Our mission
Bee products are true all-rounders in our daily lives and belong in every household.
As far back as ancient Egypt and classical antiquity, people used bee products such as propolis, royal jelly, bee venom and honey.
People are increasingly rethinking their choices, and we want to bring these time-honoured remedies into the present day. Instead of synthetic products, more people are turning to natural alternatives. Whether to support wellbeing or for skincare, bee products can help with and support many needs.
We use pure bee products without any additives. 100% pure bee products of the highest quality. Sustainability and environmental friendliness are very important to us. We use sustainable glass and ship exclusively with recyclable materials. A natural product must not harm nature through its consumption.
The wellbeing and preservation of bees is a very important issue for us. We are committed to bee conservation. Our organic certification means we may not exploit or kill any bees when harvesting our bee products. But that’s not all: did you know that half of wild bee species in Germany are threatened? We want to be part of the solution. That’s why this year we launched our nature conservation project. By creating a 5,000 m² wildflower meadow, we support not only bees but all living creatures with a sustainable habitat, safeguard species diversity and boost regional biodiversity.
