Drone battle

At the end of the summer, the mating of the queen bee comes to an end and so the drones are no longer relevant for the hive, they are driven out of the hive by the worker bees and also dragged out. The drones are dependent on the hive and no longer get any food, they starve to death in front of the entrance hole. This resembles a battlefield, from which the drone battle got its name.
